The quality of Chinese products is good and the prices are reasonable, the Vice President's wife Asha Bilal told Xinhua on Saturday. Asha Bilal made the remarks after visiting the Chinese Embassy's sale stand at the annual Charity Bazaar organised by the Diplomatic Spouses Group in Tanzania at an international school in Dar es Salaam. She commended the products at the Chinese embassy's sale stand as "collective and attractive" after purchasing some sets of handbags made of traditional Chinese handcrafts. During her speech after inaugurating the Charity Bazaar, Asha wished greater success to this year's bazaar after it raised more than 60m/- (about 45,000 US dollars) last year, which was donated to assist Tanzania's most vulnerable citizens, mostly women, children and the physically and mentally disabled. For her part, Anne Clark, Chairperson of the Diplomatic Spouses Group and wife of head of EU Delegation in Tanzania, told Xinhua that the Diplomatic Spouses Group in Tanzania supports local initiatives to raise funds for more projects to assist the most vulnerable in the east African country. He Xiaobing, wife of the Chinese ambassador who is responsible for the organisation of the Charity Bazaar, said that the charity activity was successfully conducted after one year of preparation under the initiative of the Diplomatic Spouses Group, which is part of the social efforts to contribute to poverty reduction in Tanzania. More than 30 embassies and diplomatic missions took part in this year's Charity Bazaar to showcase foodstuff, household items and handicrafts from their respective countries. |
