Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo on May 29 (Sunday) met visiting Wang Zhongyu, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), exchanging views on the China-Nigeria relations. During their meeting, Wang gave the Nigerian president a brief introduction to China's domestic affairs, China's multi-party cooperation system led by the Communist Party of China, China's political consultative system and the function and role the CPPCC plays in China's domestic affairs. Nigeria is now holding a three-month-long national political reform conference in the capital Abuja aimed at promoting a more efficient service delivery in government offices. After his recent visit to China, Obasanjo was surprised at great changes taken place there, saying Nigeria should learn from China, especially China's experience in carrying out economic reforms over the past two decades and more. The CPPCC delegation arrived in the Nigerian capital Abuja on May 28 (Saturday) for a three-day visit and is scheduled to leave for Ghanaon on May 30(Monday).
