LUSAKA, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Football authorities in Zambia are arranging two friendly matches for the national team against China and South Korea to help the team prepare for next year's Africa Cup finals in South Africa, the Times of Zambia reported on Wednesday.

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) said that the friendly matches could be played in August and November respectively.

The association's general secretary George Kasengele said the Chipolopolo (the Bullets) are likely to play South Korea away in August after playing two World Cup qualifier games against Sudan on June 2 and Ghana on June 9.

"We are likely to play South Korea in August on a FIFA day, but that is subject to confirmation. Then we are also discussing with China for a possible friendly in November in China. Both friendlies are almost confirmed," he was quoted as saying by the paper.

Zambia won its maiden Africa Cup during the finals co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon between January 21 and February 12.

The head of the football association Kalusha Bwalya has since revealed that his goal is to ensure that the team defends the title next year in South Africa and remain in the top five on the continent for the next 20 years.
