Li Keqiang Returns to Beijing after Concluding His Visit

On the afternoon of November 16, 2017, Premier Li Keqiang returned to Beijing by special plane after his successful attendance at the 20th China-ASEAN (10+1) Leaders' Meeting, the 20th ASEAN-China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (10+3) Summit, and the 12th East Asia Summit held in Manila, the Philippines, as well as his successful official visit to the Philippines.

Upon the departure from Manila, the government of the Philippines held a grand farewell ceremony at the airport. The honor guard of the three services of the Philippines lined up and the military band played the national anthems of China and the Philippines. Accompanied by Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano of the Philippines, Li Keqiang inspected the honor guard, and shook hands and bade farewell with the senior officials of the government of the Philippines who came to see him off. H.E. Zhao Jianhua, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines, and others also saw Li Keqiang off at the airport.

When attending the series of Leaders' Meetings on East Asia cooperation, Li Keqiang announced that China and the ASEAN countries will start consultations on the text of the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea, which is widely welcomed by ASEAN countries.
