Uyunqimg Meets with Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar

On the morning of June 25, 2005, Vice-Chairwoman Uyunqimg of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress met with Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar in Ulan Bator as a special envoy of Chinese President Hu Jintao.

President Nambaryn Enkhbayar thanked President Hu Jintao for sending a special envoy to attend his inauguration ceremony and asked Uyunqimg to convey his cordial greetings to President Hu. Enkhbayar said that Mongolia attaches great important to the all-round cooperation with China. "With the concerted efforts of both sides, the relations between China and Mongolia have witnessed great progress in recent 2 years. The Mongolian government and people are happy for that. The rapid development of China provides precious opportunities for Mongolia. The Mongolian side is willing to make the best use of our advantages to carry out closer economic and trade cooperation with China and accelerate the development of our own. Meanwhile, the Mongolian side is willing to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation with China in the field of science, technology, culture and environment protection."

Uyunqimg also conveyed the sincere congratulations and best wishes of President Hu Jintao to Nambaryn Enkhbayar for his accession to the President of Mongolia and commented positively on the growing momentum of China-Mongolia relationship. She said, "In recent years, the exchanges and cooperation between China and Mongolia in every field have yielded outstanding results. We are happy for that. It is our strategic choice to develop the good neighborly partnership of mutual trust with Mongolia. The Chinese side will always adhere to and never change such direction. The Chinese side appreciates the new government of Mongolia for pursuing the policy of being friendly to China and regarding the development of relationship with China as one of its priority guideline of foreign policy. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen friendliness, expand mutual trust, and deepen cooperation with Mongolia. China wants to be a good neighbor, friend and partner of Mongolia forever."
