Li Yuanchao Addresses Opening Ceremony of the 3rd China-South Asia Expo

On June 12, 2015, the 3rd China-South Asia Expo and the 23rd China Kunming Import and Export Fair opened in Kunming. Vice President Li Yuanchao attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

The theme of the Expo was "amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness as well as win-win cooperation". Over 2,000 guests from home and abroad attended.

Li Yuanchao said that China will hold high the banner of peace, development, and win-win cooperation and adhere to the concept of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with South Asian countries to forge a community of common destiny featuring common security and danger as well as shared glory and losses. China adheres to developing friendly relations with neighbors, enhancing political mutual trust, respecting other countries in their choice of development paths in accordance with their own national conditions, understanding and supporting each other on issues concerned with respective core interests, and strengthening coordination in international and regional affairs. China sticks to sincere cooperation to speed up the connectivity construction and advance the construction of backbone channels including the Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as well as cooperation in the Greater Mekong and other regions. China encourages Chinese enterprises to participate in the construction of such infrastructure as highways, railways and communications in South Asian countries. China adheres to mutual benefit and reciprocity to expand market opening-up and deepen practical cooperation in such fields as trade investment, resource development, environmental protection, cross-border tourism, international transport and financial settlement. China sticks to inclusiveness and mutual learning to deepen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in such fields as youth, culture, education, arts, religion and media, and well implement the Plan of People-to-people and Cultural Exchanges between China and South Asia so as to jointly open up the new future of win-win cooperation among the 3 billion people on both sides of the Himalayas.

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom of Maldives, Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong of Laos, Parliamentary Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury of Bangladesh, Deputy Prime Minster Hoang Trung Hai of Viet Nam and others also addressed the opening ceremony.

Vice Chairman Wan Gang of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) attended the opening ceremony.
