Li Yuanchao Meets with Foreign Political Heavyweights Attending 3rd China-South Asia Expo

On June 12, 2015, Vice President Li Yuanchao met respectively in Kunming with Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong of Laos, Parliamentary Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury of Bangladesh, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai of Viet Nam, Minister of State for External Affairs V. K. Singh Singh of India and Minister to the Prime Minister's Office M.L. Panadda Diskul of Thailand who were in China for attendance of the 3rd China-South Asia Expo and the 23rd China Kunming Import and Export Fair.

During the meeting with Thongsing Thammavong, Li Yuanchao said that China and Laos are good friends, good neighbors, good comrades and good partners. He hoped that both sides will intensify strategic communication and deepen cooperation in fields like connectivity, resources and energy, agriculture as well as people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to promote the economic and social development of the two countries and bring benefits to the two peoples.

Thongsing Thammavong said that Laos views China's development as its own achievements and stands ready to strengthen practical cooperation with the Chinese side under the framework of the "Belt and Road".

While meeting with Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Li Yuanchao said that China and Bangladesh enjoy broad prospects of cooperation and the Bangladeshi side is welcomed to take an active part in the construction of the "Belt and Road". He expected that the two sides will deepen cooperation in fields such as investment, production capacity and infrastructure construction and intensify communications between parties, parliaments, youths and think tanks, so as to lay a solid foundation for the development of bilateral relations.

Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said that Bangladesh can not achieve its development without cooperating with China. The Bangladeshi side is willing to actively create favorable conditions to advance and implement related cooperation projects between the two sides.

During the meeting with Hoang Trung Hai, Li Yuanchao said that China-Viet Nam relations now present a sound development momentum. He hoped that the two sides will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries on deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation, strengthen cooperation in constructing the Belt and Road and other fields like economy and trade and investment, and push bilateral relations to develop in a sustained, healthy and stable manner.

Hoang Trung Hai said that Viet Nam attaches great importance to the friendly relationship as well as mutually beneficial cooperation between Viet Nam and China and the two parties, and stands ready to jointly maintain the future growth of bilateral relations with the Chinese side.
