On April 19, 2023, the 17th Local Government Exchange Seminar between China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) under the theme of “strengthening China-ROK exchanges and deepening sub-national cooperation” opened in Changchun, Jilin. Director-General Chen Li of the Department of Foreign Affairs Management of the Foreign Ministry attended the event and delivered remarks.

The Local Government Exchange Seminar between China and the ROK has been successfully held for 16 sessions since 2002, providing an important platform for economic and trade cooperation and friendly exchanges between local governments of the two countries. The seminar is co-hosted by the ROK Embassy in China, the Governors Association of Korea, Changchun Municipal People’s Government, and the Foreign Affairs Office of Jilin Province, co-organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs Management of the Foreign Ministry, and undertaken by the Foreign Affairs Office of Changchun Municipal People’s Government. More than 360 people, including representatives of local governments from China and the ROK, the ROK Embassy and consulates in China, and institutions of ROK local governments in China, attended the event.
