On November 6, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, upon invitation, attended the reception hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (ROK) in China for the National Foundation Day and Armed Forces Day, and exchanged views with ROK Ambassador to China Ro Jae Hun on China-ROK relations.

Sun Weidong extended festive greetings to the ROK side, and noted that President Xi Jinping recently paid a successful state visit to the ROK and reached important common understandings with President Lee Jae Myung on the development of bilateral relations and other issues. China is willing to work with the ROK, guided by the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, to promote the steady and long-term development of the China-ROK strategic cooperative partnership, bring more tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries, and inject more positive energy into regional peace, development and prosperity.

Ro Jae Hun said that President Xi Jinping's state visit to the ROK after 11 years holds significant importance for the development of ROK-China relations. The ROK side is willing to work with China to implement the common understandings reached between the two heads of state and promote the steady development of bilateral relations.
