Friendly relations and cooperation between the People's Republic of China and Solomon Islands have continued to grow since the diplomatic relationship was established in September 21,  2019.

The two sides have frequent high-level exchanges. In October 2019, Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare paid an official visit to China and attended the closing ceremony of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo.In July 2023, Solomon IslandsPrime Minister Manasseh Sogavare paid an official visit to China, the two sides decided to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership featuring mutual respect and common development for a new era.In July 2024, Solomon IslandsPrime Minister Jeremiah Manele paid an official visit to China, the two sides agreed to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership featuring mutual respect and common developmentfor the new era, and build a China-Solomon Islands community with a shared future in thenew era.

The Chinesemedical teamshave been offering free medical services inSolomon Islandssince 2022. In August 2023, the Chinese Navy hospital ship Peace Ark paid a visit to Solomon Islands and provided medical services to the local people.
