On July 28, 2021, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Cui Aimin and his Mongolian counterpart co-hosted the 21st round of China-Mongolia consular consultation via video link. The two sides exchanged in-depth and candid views on such topics as facilitating essential personnel exchanges and safeguarding the safety and legitimate rights and interests of citizens under regular pandemic prevention and control.

Both sides agreed that the consular departments of the two countries should implement the important consensus reached by the two foreign ministers during their talks in Tianjin, properly address the prominent issues concerning personnel exchanges, and make preparation for the orderly resumption of personnel exchanges. The two sides said that the two countries will overcome all difficulties, promote practical cooperation in various fields, and advance further development of bilateral relations.
