On November 24, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li met with the outgoing Greek Ambassador to China Georgios Iliopoulos.

Deng Li spoke highly of Iliopoulos' contributions to promoting China-Greece relations and cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries during his tenure as Ambassador to China, and hopes that Iliopoulos will continue to care for and support the development of China-Greece relations in his new post.

Iliopoulos thanked the Chinese side for its support and facilitation during his tenure in China, and said that working and living in China has given him an important perspective on China and the world, and the Greek side will remain committed to being a trustworthy good friend of China within the bilateral and EU frameworks and promoting the development of Greece-China and EU-China relations.
