Ambassador He Rulong Visits Unnur Guðjónsdóttir

On March 29, 2022, Ambassador He Rulong paid a visit to Unnur Guðjónsdóttir, a member of the Icelandic-Chinese Cultural Society (KÍM) who has maintained longstanding friendship with China.

Ambassador He Rulong spoke highly of Unnur’s contribution to the promotion of Chinese culture. In the past 40 years, Unnur has always been interested in China. Apart from visiting China 38 times, she organized Icelandic tour groups to China, and opened a museum in Iceland featuring Chinese culture. In addition to promoting Chinese culture around Iceland in various ways in different stages of life, she also shared China’s development and changes with others. Although China and Iceland are geographically far apart from each other and have so many differences, mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples have been continuously deepened thanks to friends like Unnur, who have served as a bridge connecting two cultures and two peoples. Ambassador He expressed his heartfelt thanks to Unnur’s efforts in pushing forward cultural exchanges and friendship between the two countries, and wished her a happy life and good health.

Unnur warmly welcomed Ambassador He's visit, and spoke highly of the long history of traditional Chinese culture and the enormous progress in China's economy and society. She expressed willingness to continuing her work for mutual understanding and friendly exchanges between the two peoples.

Ambassador He also paid a visit to Unnur’s China Museum.
