HE Ambassador Wang Xiaolong attends and delivers remarks at the Fifth China International Import Expo Road Show

On June 2, the Fifth China International Import Expo Road Show, jointly held by China International Import Expo Bureau and China Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand was held at Auckland. Ambassador Wang Xiaolong participated in this event online and delivered remarks. Near 200 business representatives attended the Road Show online and offline.

Ambassador Wang shared information and perspectives on the Chinese economy, elaborated on China’s dynamic zero-COVID policy, and reiterated China’s faith in and its commitment to reform and opening up.

Ambassador Wang points up, hard-won achievements made by Chinese economy during Covid-19 pandemic fully indicates that the momentum of the sustained recovery in China’s economy remains unchanged, the fundamentals sustaining China’s sound economic growth in the long run remains unchanged and the Chinese economy’s great potential, resilience, and vitality remain unchanged. China is fully capable of effectively coping with various risks and challenges, achieving sustained and sound economic development.

Ambassador Wang elaborates on dynamic zero-COVID policy and states that Chinese government has consistently adopted a people-first and life-first approach since the pandemic outbreak in China. Thanks to the dynamic zero-COVID policy, China brought COVID-19 under control at the minimum social cost in the shortest time possible, and effectively protecting the health, normal life and production of the Chinese people to the maximum. Without adhering to such policy, the price for China, and for the world could be far higher.

Ambassador Wang emphasized that opening-up is a hallmark of contemporary China. No matter how the world will change, China’s faith in and its commitment to reform and opening up will not waver. China’s resolve to open up at a higher level remain unchanged and the door of China will open even wider to the world. Ambassador Wang hailed CIIE as a pathfinding avenue and a significant platform to showcase innovative solutions and an unrivaled occasion to tap into the potential of China’s vast market. 

Ambassador Wang stressed that as long as China’s economy keeps growing, as long as China stays committed to opening-up policy, and as long as China-New Zealand relations progresses on a healthy trajectory, bilateral trade and economic relations  is bound to enjoy a brighter shared future. Ambassador Wang encourages and invites more New Zealand enterprises to participate in this year’s CIIE.

During the event, CIIE Bureau publicized highlights of procurement plans of purchasers and relevant media arrangements for the fifth CIIE. Business representative of New Zealand also shared their experience and achievements in participating in the CIIE. A mini-expo was also arranged on this occasion.
