Ambassador Zheng Zeguang Visits Electric Bus Cooperation Project by BYD and Alexander Dennis

On 21 June , Ambassador Zheng Zeguang visited the electric bus cooperation project between BYD and Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) at the ADL factory in Falkirk, Scotland, UK. Ambassador Zheng had a discussion with President and Managing Director of ADL Paul Davies, Marketing Director of BYD UK Peng Yingying and other representatives, who accompanied him on a tour of the electric bus production lines.

Mr. Davies and Ms. Peng gave a briefing on the cooperation project, saying that since BYD and ADL established their partnership in 2015, the two sides, by leveraging their respective strengths, have made great success in the joint production and sales of the advanced pure electric buses. The pure electric buses they produced have been widely welcomed in the UK and have contributed greatly to the local economic growth and  development of green and low-carbon transportation.

Ambassador Zheng congratulated BYD and ADL on the fruitful outcome of their cooperation. He said that the great success of this project fully reflects the mutually beneficial and win-win nature of China-UK corporate partnership and demonstrates the great potential of cooperation between China and the UK to advance green development in both countries and globally. He hoped that BYD and ADL would further strengthen their cooperation and make greater contribution to promoting pragmatic cooperation between China and the UK and global green development.

Chinese Consul General to Edinburgh Ma Qiang, Counsellor Hua Mei, wife of Ambassador Zheng, and Minister Counsellor Zhang Jin, Minister Counsellor Zeng Rong and Counsellor Zhang Limin of the Chinese Embassy in the UK attended the event.
