Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze visits Redland City upon invitation

On 24th November, Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze visited Redland City Council upon the invitation of Mayor Karen Williams. Dr Ruan met with key officials of the city council and visited local companies. Former member of Queensland Parliament Mr Michael Choi and Deputy Consul-General Yang Chenqi attended the event.

Mayor Williams warmly welcomed Consul-General Dr Ruan's visit and introduced the city profile and development in details. She said Redland City has unique advantage in its location and resources and is closely connected with China. She expected to explore more cooperation opportunities in tourism, education, health care, agriculture, Olympic Games and other fields between the two sides. The sister city relationship between Redland City and Qinhuangdao is strong and close, and has witnessed fruitful pragmatic cooperation.

Consul-General Dr Ruan thanked Mayor Williams for her invitation and introduction. He said, the successful 20th National Congress of the CPC drew up a great blueprint for China's development in the future and took China on a new journey toward building a modern socialist country in all respects. It will bring new opportunities for China-Australia cooperation. Lately President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had a successful meeting, opening a new chapter in bilateral relations. The Chinese Consulate-General in Brisbane will remain committed to deepening China-Queensland cooperation, promoting local exchanges and further enhancing China-Queensland relations.

Consul-General Dr Ruan and his team also visited local construction company, health care center and other projects to learn about the cooperation with China.
