Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda Wang Xuekun Attended Webinar Co-Hosted by IDCPC and RPF

On March 16th, the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) and the Secretariat of Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) held a webinar. The two sides exchanged views on topics including the outcomes of the 20th CPC National Congress, the exploration of modernization paths of the two countries, the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, as well as China-Rwanda relations. Mr. Zhou Guohui, Deputy Director-General of African Bureau of IDCPC, Hon. Protais Musoni, Senior Advisor to the Secretary General of the RPF, and Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda Wang Xuekun attended the event among other participants.

On behalf of IDCPC, Mr. Zhou expressed warm congratulations to the RPF on the upcoming 16th National Congress and the celebration of its 35th anniversary. He briefed PRF participants on important outcomes of the 20th CPC National Congress and the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-level Meeting. He elaborated on the connotation and significance of Chinese path to modernization, and made a detailed introduction of the Global Civilization Initiative.

On behalf of RPF General Secretary, Hon. François Ngarambe, Hon. Protais Musoni conveyed congratulations to President Xi Jinping on his re-election. Mr. Musoni said that the CPC has made remarkable achievements in recent years and important contributions to global common prosperity. RPF and Rwanda wishes CPC and China new success on the new journey. President Xi’ speech at the High-level Meeting laid out directions for political parties to work together in promoting the reform of the global governance system, enriching the dialogue among global civilizations, breaking the win-or-lose mentality and achieving common global development. RPF will continue to strengthen inter-party exchanges with CPC and advance the modernization process of both countries.

Amb. Wang Xuekun explained the similarity of the ruling party of China and Rwanda with three examples: uniting under the strong leadership; putting the people first and seeking independent development paths. He said that in this challenging time, two countries can work together to promote world peace and development, so as to build a community with shared future. China looks forward to further strengthening bilateral political and inter-party exchanges with the Rwandan side, deepening political mutual trust and the exchanges in governance, and creating greater synergy between development strategies of the two sides for the benefit of two peoples. China sincerely wishes Rwanda a great success in realizing Vision 2050.

Delegates from both sides also exchanged views on development experiences and bilateral cooperation.
