On May 15, 2023, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Mr. Hu Zhiping, Deputy Director-General of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) affiliated with the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE), and his team during their visit to Kuwait.

Ambassador Zhang noted that at the China-GCC Summit held at the end of last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed collaborative efforts in five priority areas, including nurturing new highlights in language and cultural cooperation, to boost cooperation between China and GCC countries, saying that President Xi’s proposals chart the course of China-GCC and China-Kuwait relations. The increasingly close exchanges and cooperation between the two countries have fueled a greater passion among the people of Kuwait to learn Chinese language and get to know China. Against this backdrop, language and cultural cooperation between the two sides has bright prospects.

Hu said CLEC would coordinate closely with the Chinese Embassy to deliver Chinese language education programs in Kuwait at an early date, so as to further expand and deepen educational cooperation between China and Kuwait.

Accompanied by Ambassador Zhang, the delegation also visited Undersecretary of Kuwaiti Ministry of Education Osama Al-Sultan and Acting Director of the University, Prof. Fahad Al-Dubais Al-Rashidi during its visit to Kuwait. The two sides had discussions about certain cooperation matters.
