Chinese Consul General in Brisbane Ruan Zongze Meets with Mayor of Townsville Cr Jenny Hill

On 4th July,2023,Chinese Consul-General in Brisbane Dr RUAN Zongze met with Mayor of Townsville Cr Jenny Hill. Deputy Consul-General LI Suyun was present.

Dr RUAN said, there have been lots of important achievements in the 51 years of China-Australia relations, which bring to the two peoples many benefits. Now the bilateral relations are getting back to the right track with frequent exchanges. China and Australia are important trading partners, and their cooperation has great potential and broad prospects. Chinese path to modernization is with huge population and peaceful development. The rapid growth of the middle-income group in China and the strong demand for high-quality products are believed to bring more opportunities to Australia. The Consulate-General would like to push forward the relationships between Townsville and its two sister cities Changshu and Foshan in China.

Mayor Hill said, the Chinese in Townsville have made great contributions to local economic and social development. I expect to promote people-to-people exchanges and economic and trade cooperation with China, especially to deepen and expand friendships with Changshu and Foshan.
