Assistant Foreign Minister Deng Li Meets with Outgoing Algerian Ambassador to China Ahcene Boukhelfa

On October 21, 2021, Assistant  Foreign Minister Deng Li met with outgoing Algerian Ambassador to China Ahcene  Boukhelfa.

Deng Li spoke positively of  Boukhelfa's efforts to promote China-Algeria relations during his tenure as  Algerian Ambassador to China. He hopes that Ahcene Boukhelfa will further care  for and support the development of China-Algeria ties after he leaves office.  Deng Li said, China and Algeria enjoy profound traditional friendship. China  will never forget the significant contribution of Algeria to China's return to  the United Nations. In recent years, China-Algeria relations have maintained  sound and steady growth. Both sides firmly support each other on issues related  to each other's core interests and major concerns, and deliver fruitful outcomes  in practical cooperation across the board. China is willing to work with Algeria  to further consolidate political mutual trust, increase exchanges and  cooperation in various areas within the framework of jointly building the Belt  and Road, and closely coordinate and collaborate with each other in regional and  international affairs, seeking greater progress in China-Algeria comprehensive  strategic partnership in the new era.

Boukhelfa expressed his gratitude  for China's support during his tenure. He said, China is the sincere partner of  Algeria. Despite the significant changes, both internationally and in Algeria,  China-Algeria relations have always maintained steady progress and both sides  have achieved fruitful cooperation. Algeria highly values its ties with China,  and it stands ready to work with China to synergize strategies, deepen all-round  cooperation, and inject new vitality into bilateral relations.
