On November 22, 2021 local time, Dutch Foreign Minister Ben Knapen met with Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs Wu Hongbo, who was visiting the Netherlands. The two sides made positive comments on China-Netherlands relations and said that the two sides will take the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the formal establishment of diplomatic ties to push for further development of the open and pragmatic China-Netherlands comprehensive cooperative partnership. The two sides also exchanged views on China-EU relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

During his visit to the Netherlands, Ambassador Wu Hongbo also held political consultations between two foreign ministries with the Dutch side.
