On March 16, 2022, Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh met with visiting Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Xue Bing.

Special Envoy Xue Bing mainly elaborated on the "Initiative of Peaceful Development in the Horn of Africa" put forward by China, and heard Djibouti's views on the implementation of the initiative.

President Guelleh spoke highly of the Djibouti-China strategic partnership and thanked China for its long-term support for Djibouti's development. He said that Djibouti welcomes and supports the "Initiative of Peaceful Development in the Horn of Africa" and is ready to maintain communication and cooperation with China in implementing the initiative.
