Director-General of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Cai Wei Attends the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Mexico - China-Mexico Cloud Seminar on Fujian Juncao Technology

On June 14, 2022, Director-General of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Cai Wei attended and addressed the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Mexico - China-Mexico Cloud Seminar on Fujian Juncao Technology via video link. Chinese Ambassador to Mexico Zhu Qingqiao, Director Chen Chuxin of Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Fujian Province as well as Director-General of the Department of Asia-Pacific Affairs of the Mexican Foreign Ministry Fernando Gonzalez Saiffe and Mexican Ambassador to China Jesus Seade addressed the activity. More than 70 representatives from Mexican government departments, localities, enterprises and farmers attended the seminar and warmly exchanged views with Chinese experts.

Director-General Cai Wei said that both China and Mexico are major developing countries and important emerging markets. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 50 years ago, pragmatic cooperation between the two countries has been deepened continuously and the China-Mexico friendship has grown into an exuberant tree laden with fruits. Juncao technology is China's successful practice of applying poverty reduction experience to sustainable development. He hopes that the two sides will continue the great story of mutual learning and mutually beneficial cooperation, contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to Mexico's green and coordinated economic and social development, and enrich the China-Mexico comprehensive strategic partnership by implementing the Global Development Initiative.

Mexican guests spoke highly of China's Juncao technology, saying that it is an excellent agricultural technology that will contribute to Mexico's poverty reduction and alleviation, food self-sufficiency and rural revitalization. The Mexican side is willing to actively consider the synergy between Juncao technology with its "Sowing Life" program, and take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Mexico-China diplomatic ties as an opportunity to continuously deepen bilateral agricultural and sub-national cooperation and enhance the traditional friendship between the two countries and the well-being of the two peoples.

The seminar, hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Fujian Province, is part of a series of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Mexico.
