On June 27, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li met with outgoing Kuwaiti Ambassador to China Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat.

Deng Li spoke positively of Sameeh's efforts to promote China-Kuwait exchanges and cooperation during his tenure as Ambassador to China, and hopes that he will continue to care for and support the development of China-Kuwait relations after his return to Kuwait. Deng Li said that China and Kuwait are good friends and good partners. The two sides have always supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns, steadily advanced practical cooperation in various fields and maintained sound coordination in international and regional affairs. China is ready to work with Kuwait to further strengthen political mutual trust, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and elevate the China-Kuwait strategic partnership to a new level.

Sameeh thanked the Chinese side for its support during his tenure in China and stressed that Kuwait will continue to stand firmly with China on issues involving China's core interests, and is willing to continuously deepen cooperation with China in various fields to promote greater development of Kuwait-China relations.
