Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui Attends the Reception Marking the Independence Day of Georgia

On July 8, 2022, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui attended the reception marking the Independence Day of Georgia held by the Georgian Embassy in China upon invitation, and unveiled the statue of the famous Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli.

In his remarks, Li Hui congratulated Georgia on its Independence Day, saying that Georgia has continuously made new achievements in the cause of national development and China is sincerely glad about this. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Georgia. Over the past 30 years, no matter how the international and regional situations evolved, China and Georgia have always respected each other and treated each other as equals, steering bilateral relations on the track of sound and steady development. China will continue to join hands with Georgia to write a new chapter of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and constantly elevate the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Georgia to new heights.

In his remarks, Georgian Ambassador to China Archil Kalandia spoke highly of the development of friendly relations between China and Georgia, as well as cooperation outcomes in various fields. He said, Georgia is ready to make joint efforts with China to take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as a new historical starting point to further deepen and substantiate the Belt and Road cooperation, so as to better benefit the two peoples.
