On November 10, 2022, the Africa-China Alliance for Poverty Alleviation Inaugural Ceremony & 2022 FOCAC Africa-China Poverty Reduction and Development Conference was held in an online-plus-offline format. Vice Administrator Xia Gengsheng of the National Rural Revitalization Administration and Special Representative Liu Yuxi of the Chinese Government on African Affairs, among others, attended and addressed the forum. The Africa-China Alliance for Poverty Alleviation Inaugural Ceremony was held during the conference.

Liu Yuxi said that China has always firmly supported Africa's development and revitalization. Poverty alleviation is an important part of China-Africa cooperation, which demonstrates the feature of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith in China-Africa relations and the direction of building a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era. The Africa-China Poverty Reduction and Development Conference is one of the important sub-forums of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and a major platform for China-Africa poverty reduction exchanges. The Africa-China Alliance for Poverty Alleviation will serve as a platform to pool resources to support poverty reduction for agricultural development in Africa, promote the exchange of experience on governance and poverty reduction and development between China and Africa, and advance the sustainable development of poverty reduction in Africa.

The 2022 FOCAC Africa-China Poverty Reduction and Development Conference, hosted by the National Rural Revitalization Administration, is an important event to implement the follow-up actions of the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the FOCAC. The Africa-China Poverty Reduction and Development Conference has been held for 12 sessions so far. The theme of this year's conference is "Deepen the Partnership for Poverty Reduction and Development, Promote High-Quality Development of China-Africa Cooperation".
