Special Representative Qiu Xiaoqi of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Visits Venezuela

From November 20 to 23, 2022, Special Representative Qiu Xiaoqi of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs visited Venezuela, during which he met respectively with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros, Vice President and Minister of Economy and Finance Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez, Foreign Minister Carlos Faria, and Vice Foreign Minister Capaya Rodríguez. Chinese Ambassador to Venezuela Li Baorong was present at relevant events.

Special Representative Qiu Xiaoqi gave an in-depth introduction to the epoch-making significance, important outcomes and far-reaching influence of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and exchanged views with Venezuelan side on deepening China-Venezuela comprehensive strategic partnership and cooperation in various fields, noting that China firmly supports the Venezuelan people's independent choice of the development path. He wishes greater achievements in Venezuela’s national development. The Venezuelan side extended warm congratulations on the success of the 20th CPC National Congress and President Xi Jinping’s re-election as General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, and spoke highly of the sound momentum of bilateral relations. The Venezuelan side cherishes the traditional friendship between the two countries, and stands ready to work with China to jointly take Venezuela-China relations to a higher level.
