On January 7, 2025 local time, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi gave an interview to the press in Brazzaville and introduced the details of his visit to the Republic of the Congo.

Wang Yi said that China and the Republic of the Congo reached broad common understandings on strengthening their comprehensive strategic partnership and deepening China-Africa cooperation. Both sides agreed to continue solidifying the ironclad friendship between China and the Republic of the Congo, and stand firmly together on issues related to each other's core interests, including sovereignty, security, and development. Through the exchanges of governance experience, the two sides aim to pursue development paths that suit their respective national conditions and work hand in hand toward modernization.

The two sides agreed to continue to be at the forefront of China-Africa friendship. Following the important common understandings reached between President Xi Jinping and President Denis Sassou Nguesso, the two sides will accelerate the building of a high-level China-Republic of the Congo community with a shared future, setting a benchmark for the all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

The two sides agreed to continue to boost the well-established credentials of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). This year marks the 25th anniversary of the forum's establishment. As co-chairs of the forum, both sides will focus on the "ten partnership actions", jointly implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit, and jointly plan the "timetable" and "roadmap" for the forum's development over the next three years.

The two sides agreed to continue defending international fairness and justice. China appreciates the unique role played by the Republic of the Congo in international affairs and is ready to work closely with the Republic of the Congo to help Africa achieve peace and stability, support Africa in addressing "climate injustice", advocate an equal and orderly multipolar world and universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, and jointly promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
