President Xi Jinping Appoints New Ambassadors

President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping recently announced the appointment of the following new Ambassadors in line with decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress:

I. Sun Weidong was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of India, replacing Luo Zhaohui.

II. Zhou Jian was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the State of Qatar, replacing Li Chen.

III. Li Yan (female) was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Georgia, replacing Ji Yanchi.

IV. Guo Min (female) was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Azerbaijan, replacing Wei Jinghua.

V. Lu Shaye was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of France and concurrently Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Principality of Monaco, replacing Zhai Jun.

VI. Zhang Jun was appointed Permanent Representative and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations, replacing Ma Zhaoxu.
