On November 7, 2024, Ambassador Cui Aimin met with President of the Regional Council of Västra Götaland Renée Bengtsson. They exchanged views on deepening the friendly cooperation between China and Västra Götaland County and other issues. Consul General in Gothenburg Yang Peidong was present at the meeting.

Ambassador Cui provided an overview of China’s efforts to deepen reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization. He emphasized that China’s economy has been on a generally steady, sound and upward trajectory with high-quality development being advanced and new productive forces being formed at a faster pace,which will bring new opportunities for all countries in the world, including Sweden. He stated that China and Västra Götaland County enjoy time-honored exchanges, and both sides have strong industrial complementarities and broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of green transition, high and new technologiesand so on. He expressed the hope that Västra Götaland Countywill strengthen exchanges with China, deepen cooperation in various fields and improve the well-being of the people of both sides.

President Bengtsson briefed on the history, culture, geographical advantages and economic and social development of Västra Götaland County, and expressed the willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side to promote the development of friendly relations between the two sides.
