Chinese Ambassador to Tonga Liu Weimin Visits ‘Eua

On May 20th, Ambassador Liu Weimin visited the island of ‘Eua, where he met with Hon. Fusimalohi, Deputy Prime Minister and people’s representative of 'Eua, and Mr. Lavemaau, government representative for the island of ‘Eua. They exchanged views on local assistance projects and twin-city cooperation.

Ambassador Liu said that China attached great importance to sub-national cooperation, was ready to continue advancing small but beautiful projects in 'Eua to enhance local well-being and improve the sense of fulfillment among people.

Hon. Fusimalohi thanked China’s assistance in agriculture and livestock farming and called for expanding cooperation. Mr. Lavemaau said, he would actively promote the twin-city relationship with China and hoped more people benefit from China-aid projects.

Together with Hon. Fusimalohi, Ambassador Liu visited the construction site of resettlement housing funded by China in Mango community and livestock ( pigs and poultry) farming projects of local families, gave the Chinese Ambassador Scholarship for 'Eua and met with the benefited student and family representatives. He visited the outreach medical service operated by the China-aid Medical Team and agricultural technical training session organized by the China-aid Agricultural Team. He also reached out to the Chinese community in ‘Eua.
