On May 17, Ambassador Kong Xianhua attended the opening ceremony of Chinese language training course organized by the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives for the Maldives Immigration. Officials and trainee representatives from the Maldives Immigration, and the heads of Villa College and the Chinese Language Center of Villa College were in attendance.

Ambassador Kong stated that the Immigration is the Maldives' first window to the world. China is not only the Maldives' largest source of tourists but also a sincere development partner for the Maldives. Language is the key to opening the door to understanding between different civilizations. He expressed the hope that the trainees would improve their Chinese proficiency, deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, better serve Chinese tourists visiting the Maldives, and become ambassadors of friendship between China and the Maldives.

The Maldives Immigration thanked the Embassy for providing this valuable training opportunity and stated that the trainees would use their Chinese language skills to provide better services to Chinese tourists, facilitate personnel exchanges between the two countries, and promote friendly cooperation between China and the Maldives.
