On October 17, 2011, Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang met with the Vietnamese Assistant Foreign Minister and Director-General of the Personnel and Organization Department. Li said that currently China-Vietnam relations in general develop soundly. General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong visited China successfully not long ago. Leaders of the two parties and the two countries exchanged in-depth views on deepening China-Vietnam relations and properly handling the South China Sea issue and reached important consensus. As the governing authorities of bilateral relations, the two ministries of foreign affairs are responsible for implementing the consensus reached between the leaders and promoting the sustained, healthy and stable development of China-Vietnam all-round strategic partnership. He noted that the cooperation protocol between the two ministries has been implemented well since it was signed in 2002 and played an active role of advancing the bilateral relations. He hopes the two sides seize the opportunity of Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to deepen the exchanges and cooperation on the personnel work and promote the construction of diplomatic personnel teams.
