11th Plenary Session of the China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development Held in Moscow

On July 4, 2017, the 11th plenary session of the China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development (CRFCPD) was held in Moscow. Over 100 people including Chinese Chairman of the CRFCPD Dai Bingguo, Russian Chairman of the CRFCPD Boris Titov, chairmen and representatives of the board of directors of both sides attended the meeting.

The plenary session coincided with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the CRFCPD. The representatives of the CRFCP present at the meeting all expressed that they will bear in mind the entrustment of the leaders of the two countries and make positive contributions to the consolidation and development of bilateral friendly relations.

In his keynote speech at the plenary session, Dai Bingguo summed up the work of the CRFCPD in the past 20 years on enhancing the traditional friendship and mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples. He pointed out that the international situation is undergoing important changes and adjustments. To further enrich the connotation of China-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Coordination, the CRFCPD should further give play to its role as the major channel of people-to-people diplomacy between China and Russia, and forge a strong three-dimensional network of non-governmental exchanges, so as to write a new chapter of friendly exchanges between the two peoples.

Boris Titov expressed that the CRFCPD has experienced an extraordinary course over the past 20 years and obtained full support from the two governments and all circles of both societies. In the future, the CRFCPD will keep up its efforts to continuously make contributions to enhancing bilateral traditional friendship and facilitating cooperation.

Dai Bingguo also met with old friends, professionals and scholars of Russia.
