Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui Meets with Princess Hajah Masna of Brunei

On September 5, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Luo Zhaohui met with the visiting Princess Hajah Masna of Brunei.

Luo Zhaohui said, China-Brunei relations enjoy a sound development momentum. The two heads of state have frequent exchanges and provide strategic guidance for the development of bilateral relations. The Chinese side praises the great importance Brunei's royal family and the Bruneian government attach to relations with China. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Bruneian side to well implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, deepen the cooperation in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and make concerted efforts to well host relevant activities for the Year of Tourism between China and Brunei in 2020, and expand non-governmental and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to push constant and new development of China-Brunei strategic cooperative partnership. The Bruneian side is welcome to continue playing a constructive role in the relations between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Hajah Masna expressed, Brunei and China enjoy a long-standing friendship. She thanked the Chinese side's long-term support and assistance for the Bruneian side in bilateral, regional and international affairs. The Bruneian side is willing to continue to push forward the integration of the Brunei Vision 2035 and the Belt and Road Initiative of the Chinese side, further intensify cooperation in such areas as economy, trade, energy, culture, education and sports. The Bruneian side is willing to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to boost regional stability and development.
