On the morning of November 11, 2022 local time, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council met with Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh.

Li Keqiang first conveyed the cordial greetings of President Xi Jinping to King Sihamoni, and the best wishes of the Chinese side to Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk. Li noted that China and Cambodia enjoy profound traditional friendship, and are good friends, good brothers and good partners. The two sides have always respected each other and treated each other as equals, and supported each other on issues involving each other’s core interests and major concerns. The Chinese side highly appreciates the Cambodian royal family’s contributions to carrying forward the China-Cambodia friendship and promoting bilateral exchanges and cooperation. China will provide assistance to the best of its ability for Cambodia’s efforts to promote economic development and improve people's livelihood, and will work with Cambodia to strengthen high-level exchanges, and deepen mutual trust and cooperation, to better benefit the two countries and peoples.

Li noted that his official visit to Cambodia this time has achieved positive outcomes, and is conducive to advancing sustained and steady growth of China-ASEAN relations. China looks forward to working with other participating parties at the upcoming Leaders' Meetings on East Asia Cooperation to focus on upholding peace and stability, promoting economic growth, conducting constructive dialogue, and strengthening practical cooperation in various fields, so as to send to the outside world a positive message of solidarity and coordination among East Asian countries in seeking development and meeting challenges, and contribute its share to promoting the welfare of regional countries and their peoples.

Sihamoni asked Li Keqiang to convey his best wishes to President Xi Jinping, and warmly welcomed Premier Li and his delegation to Cambodia for a visit on behalf of the Cambodian people. Sihamoni said that the Cambodia-China friendship has a long history, and the traditional friendship fostered by the elder generation of leaders of the two countries has benefited both countries and their peoples. Both Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk and he himself deeply cherish the friendship with China. Cambodia thanks China for providing all-round support to the country in various fields, and for helping Cambodia uphold peace and realize unity and development. Cambodia is firmly committed to the one-China principle, supports the building of an even closer Cambodia-China community with a shared future, and is ready to work with China to further consolidate and deepen the traditional friendship between the two sides, so as to advance bilateral cooperation for new progress.
