On November 1, 2022, Assistant Foreign Minister Wu Jianghao attended and addressed the "ASEAN Students' Talk with Taikonauts" event via video link.

Wu Jianghao said that exploring the vast universe has always been the common dream of mankind. We come from different countries and speak different languages, but we all have infinite aspirations for outer space. Over the past 30 years, generations of Chinese people working in the field of aerospace have been striving to develop the aerospace industry and boost China's strength in aerospace against all odds, and they have made world-renowned achievements. China and ASEAN are good neighbors, good friends and good partners. In recent years, the two sides have carried out close exchanges and cooperation in application of space technology, communication satellites, aerospace mapping, etc. Outer space has become a new area of cooperation between the two sides. He expressed the hope that the youth of China and ASEAN will look up at the stars and stand on solid ground, learn scientific knowledge, take up the responsibility of exploring the mysteries of the universe, and work together to create a brighter future for all mankind.

The "ASEAN Students' Talk with Taikonauts" event was held at the main venue in Beijing Royal School and at branch venues in Brunei, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand Vietnam and other countries, with nearly 1,000 young people from China and ASEAN countries participating. Shenzhou-14 taikonauts Chen Dong, Liu Yang and Cai Xuzhe answered questions from the youth representatives of China and ASEAN countries. The questions included the biggest challenges taikonauts face in space, whether they can use cell phones and access the Internet, how they drink and eat, the differences between male and female taikonauts, and the most important qualities of being a taikonaut. Special-grade taikonaut Liu Boming of the Taikonaut Corps of People's Liberation Army of China also gave a live lecture at the main venue in Beijing, and had a cordial interaction with youth representatives.

The event was co-hosted by World Affairs Press and the China-ASEAN Center. Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Center Shi Zhongjun and Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun delivered speeches at the event. Ambassador Wang Fukang of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Affairs, Chairman of World Affairs Press Cui Chun, Principal of Beijing Royal School Wang Guangfa, and representatives of ASEAN embassies in China attended the event at the main venue in Beijing. The First Lady of the Philippines Louise Araneta-Marcos, Minister of Education of Brunei Romaizah Mohd Salleh, Commissioner of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand Thanapant Raicharoen, Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Yu Hong, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian, and representatives of Chinese embassies in ASEAN countries attended the event at overseas branch venues.
