On September 15, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met the press with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif of Iran after their talks in Beijing, and pointed out that reaching a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue will certainly have impact on the geopolitical situation in the Middle East. And as long as all parties interact with each other actively, the impact will surely be positive and beneficial. First, the Iranian nuclear issue was once a major hotspot that has influenced the situation in the Middle East for a long time. Reaching the comprehensive agreement obviously adds stabilizing factors to the region. Second, Iran is a major country in the Middle East, and resolving regional hotspot issues needs Iran's participation. We hope and believe that Iran will play a more positive and constructive role in resolving regional hotspot issues after reaching the comprehensive agreement. Third, reaching the comprehensive agreement shows that no matter how complex and tough the issues are, political settlement could always be found as long as we persist in dialogues and consultations. And I believe that this beneficial experience will have demonstration effect on resolving other hotspot issues.

Wang Yi said that the lasting turbulent situation in West Asia and North Africa should not continue. All parties should adhere to the right direction of political resolution of hotspot issues, seek practical solutions that accommodate the concerns of all parties, and strengthen international cooperation in anti-terrorism to prevent the spread of terrorist and extremist forces. All parties should play a positive role in realizing regional peace and stability.
