On September 18, 2014, Gong Xiaosheng met with Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour of Jordan at the Prime Minister's residence in Jordan's capital Amman, and on September 17 met with Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Mohamed Tayser Bani Yaseen of Jordan, respectively exchanging views on issues such as the latest development of the Palestine-Israel situation and regional situation.

During the meetings, Gong Xiaosheng said that China is deeply concerned and worried about the current situation in the Middle East, especially the Gaza conflict that broke out not long ago, welcomes the ceasefire reached between Palestine and Israel, and calls on both sides to continue serious negotiations to reach a long-term and unconditional ceasefire. He said that Jordan is an active participant in the Middle East peace process and has played an important role for a long time in promoting Palestine-Israel peace, which China highly appreciates. China is willing to work with Jordan and the international community to contribute to easing tensions between Palestine and Israel, improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza and promoting Palestine-Israel peace.
