King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan Meets with Wang Yong

On May 25, 2016, King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein of Jordan met with State Councilor Wang Yong, who was visiting Jordan, in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

Wang Yong firstly conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm greetings and goods wishes to Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein, and expressed that this trip coincides with the 70th anniversary of the independence of Jordan and China offers warm congratulations to it. The Chinese side appreciates Jordan's firm support for issues concerning China's core interests, such as Taiwan-related issues and the South China Sea issue. Wang Yong said that China is ready to, together with Jordan, jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and closely integrate the "Belt and Road" initiative with "Jordan 2025". The Chinese side encourages competent Chinese enterprises to participate in projects in such fields as transportation, energy and production capacity cooperation in Jordan and is willing to strengthen cooperation in anti-terrorism, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and other areas with the Jordanian side. China decides to appropriate 70 million yuan to the Jordanian side for settling Syrian refugees in Jordan from the 330 million yuan that has already been announced to be provided to regional countries as humanitarian aid.

Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein expressed that at present, with favorable political relations, and close economic and trade cooperation, the friendly cooperative relations in various fields between Jordan and China have enjoyed steady and healthy development. The Jordanian side stands ready to promote practical cooperation with the Chinese side within the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative, and enhance bilateral cooperation in anti-terrorism, so as to continuously push forward the strategic partnership between the two countries.
