On June 22, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi answered questions on the current Gulf crisis when jointly meeting the press with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi of Jordan.

Wang Yi said that China focuses on the current situation in Gulf region. Arab countries are good friends of China. The current problem is the conflicts among Arab brothers. China is glad to see the proper settlement of the problems through dialogue and consultation with Arab ways within the framework of Gulf countries. There is no rough in the world that cannot be passed; likewise, there is no problem that cannot be solved. In my opinion, all the Arab countries including Qatar share the unified direction in fighting all forms of terrorism and extremism. As long as the greatest common divisor is found, the specific solution to the problem acceptable for all parties can be definitely found. As a friend of Arab countries, China stands ready to play a constructive role at any time in need.
