From March 16 to 17, 2019, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Syrian Issue Xie Xiaoyan visited Jordan, during which he met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi of Jordan, and held discussions with experts and scholars from the Center for Middle East Studies in Jordan as well as former Jordanian political heavyweights. They exchanged in-depth views on the Syrian issue. H.E. Pan Weifang, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan, attended relevant activities.

During his stay in Jordan, Xie Xiaoyan also gave an interview to the China Central Television, introducing his views on the current situation in Syria and the Chinese side's efforts to promote the political settlement of the Syrian issue.
