On July 6, 2020, when attending the ninth ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi noted, China and Arab states need to firmly support each other and safeguard fairness and justice.

Wang Yi said, China firmly supports Arab states in maintaining their political security and social stability and choosing an independent development path. The right of independent statehood of the Palestinian people cannot be traded; violations of legitimate rights and interests of Palestine cannot be legitimized; and the just historical appeal of the Arab nation cannot be ignored. China will continue to stand firmly with the Palestinian people and people of Arab states.

Wang Yi stressed, Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Taiwan are part of China. China opposes interfering in China's internal affairs under the guise of issues related to Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Taiwan. It is not only to safeguard China's sovereignty and dignity, but also to defend the basic norms governing international relations, which serves the common interests of all developing countries. We thank the Arab brothers for their firm support for the Chinese side's just proposition at the Human Rights Council and believe that the Arab side will continue to take a just position on issues concerning the Chinese side's internal affairs.
