On November 9, 2011, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and Adnan Mansour, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon, exchanged congratulatory messages on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

In his message, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said that China is satisfied with the development of bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties 40 years ago. China is willing to make joint efforts with Lebanon to promote bilateral political exchanges, expand pragmatic cooperation and strengthen coordination in international and regional affairs in a bid to continuously consolidate and deepen bilateral friendly cooperative relations.

Foreign Minister Mansour said in his message that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 40 years ago, Lebanon-China friendly cooperative ties have been developing continuously, which the Lebanese side deeply appreciates. Lebanon is willing to work with China to further promote bilateral cooperation in all areas for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.
