Premier Wen Jiabao, Lebanese Prime Minister Mikati Exchange Congratulatory Messages on the 40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties between the Two Countries

On November 9, 2011, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati exchanged congratulatory messages on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Premier Wen Jiabao said in his message that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 40 years ago, bilateral ties have been developing smoothly with the cooperative ties in the political, economic, trade, cultural and other areas enhanced continuously. The Chinese government attaches importance to developing relations with Lebanon and is willing to work with Lebanon to deepen bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in economy, trade, personnel training and other areas and push the relations to a new level.

In his message, Prime Minister Mikati said that in recent years, under the capable leadership of the Chinese leaders, China's comprehensive national strength has been growing rapidly and international influence and competitiveness further enhanced. The Lebanese government attaches great importance to developing friendly cooperative relations with China and is willing to take the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties as an opportunity to further expand and deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields to benefit the two peoples.
