On April 2, 2019, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Gong Xiaosheng visited Lebanon, during which he met with former President Michel Suleiman of Lebanon and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hani Al Shemaitli of Lebanon. Both sides exchanged views on the current regional situation, the Middle East peace process and other issues. H.E. Wang Kejian, Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, attended meeting.
