Since 1992, the Foreign Ministry has paired up with Malipo County in Wenshan Prefecture of Yunnan Province. Over 29 years, it has implemented 687 projects covering subsistence, education, sanitation, training, whole-village makeover and industrial development, and produced remarkable results. In Malipo County, envoys visited the projects constructed with the funds collected through the activity "Love Knows No Borders" held by the Foreign Ministry, including safe drinking water project, Malipo Ethnic Minority Middle School and the makeover project of Ping'anpo Village of Tianbao Town. In Xichou County, they visited rock desertification improvement project, and saw the local poverty relief feat in turning rocky deserts into farmland. Envoys also listened to the "diplomatic poverty alleviation" work introduced by representative of the Foreign Ministry at Malipo County, and praised the workers as a special group of "people's diplomats".
