Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li Holds Political Consultation with Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Waleed Al-Khuraiji

On May 23, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li and Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Waleed Al-Khuraiji held political consultations between the two foreign ministries in Beijing.

Deng Li said that at the end of last year, President Xi Jinping paid a successful state visit to Saudi Arabia and attended the first China-Arab States Summit and the China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, which achieved fruitful results. China is ready to work with Saudi Arabia to strengthen communication and coordination, advance exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and make joint contributions to improving the level of overall cooperation between China and the GCC, and between China and Arab States.

Waleed Al-Khuraiji said the two summits held in Saudi Arabia and President Xi Jinping's state visit to Saudi Arabia last year were all very successful. Saudi Arabia is ready to continuously deepen political mutual trust and expand practical cooperation with China, elevate the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to a higher level, and make unremitting efforts to promote the development of GCC-China  and Arab States-China relations.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and concern.
