On April 16, 2025, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin met with Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov.

Liu Bin said that under the strategic planning and guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Ilham Aliyev, the China-Azerbaijan strategic partnership has maintained a good momentum of development, with fruitful cooperation results in various fields such as economy and trade, transportation, and new energy. China is ready to work with Azerbaijan to follow through on the important common understandings reached between the heads of state, further deepen political mutual trust, promote mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen international coordination, and continuously push for new development in China-Azerbaijan relations.

Samir Sharifov said that the strategic consensus between the two heads of state has provided political guidance and strong momentum for the development of Azerbaijan-China relations. Azerbaijan is willing to uphold the spirit of strategic partnership with China, strive to expand cooperation in various fields, and promote the development of China-Azerbaijan relations to a new level.
