Wang Yi said, as brothers, good neighbors, and "iron friends", China and Tajikistan should take the lead in building a community with shared development and a community with shared security and go ahead of China's relations with the other Central Asian countries. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the independence of Tajikistan and next year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Tajikistan, ushering the bilateral relations into a fresh historic chapter and providing them with new development opportunities. The phone conversation between the two heads of state days ago has charted a course for the development of China-Tajikistan relations. We should earnestly implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, continue enhancing the "gold content" of bilateral relations, consolidate the foundation of political mutual trust, upgrade the scale and quality of cooperation, push China-Tajikistan relations for a new development stage, and make new contribution to deepening the cooperation of China with Central Asian countries. China highly appreciates Tajikistan's firm support on issues concerning the country's core interests, such as those concerning Taiwan, Xinjiang and Hong Kong. China will continue to staunchly support Tajikistan in taking a development path suited to its own national conditions and safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests, and firmly oppose any interference in Tajikistan's internal affairs by external forces.

Wang Yi noted, China is willing to further strengthen vaccine cooperation with Tajikistan, explore the establishment of a "fast track" for movements of the people, support the building of China-Tajikistan center for traditional medicine in Tajikistan, carry out cooperation in such areas as telemedicine, medical staff training, prevention and control, and diagnosis and treatment, and help Tajikistan improve its public health system. The two sides should take a multi-pronged approach to facilitate the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) under joint contributions, enhance the level of economic and trade cooperation, and help each other attain respective national development goals, with normalized measures of COVID-19 prevention and control in place. China stands ready to work with Tajikistan to allow large projects to further drive bilateral cooperation, negotiate on and sign the middle- and long-term economic and trade cooperation plan, ensure the freight transportation routes are smooth, help Tajikistan modernize agriculture, and extend the reach of local government cooperation to core areas from adjacent areas for the purpose of boosting the local development and prosperity of both countries. China is willing to help Tajikistan step up vocational skill training and offer talent support for the advances of Tajik economy and society.

Wang Yi stressed, China will fully support Tajikistan in performing its duties as the rotating chair of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and launching this year's SCO Summit, so as to earnestly promote the Shanghai Spirit, enable the SCO to give voice on current international and regional issues, tackle new threats and new challenges in the post-pandemic era, assist countries in recovering economy, protect regional security and stability, and inject new momentum into the development of the SCO. China is willing to work with Central Asian countries to reinforce coordination and cooperation, jointly construct the mutually-beneficial and win-win pilot areas under the BRI, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Sirojiddin Muhriddin said that Tajikistan regards China as its most reliable strategic partner. The two countries have always maintained a high level of friendship and mutual trust and always been able to find a common ground in bilateral and international affairs. He appreciated the Chinese side for greatly helping the country fighting the pandemic, developing the economy and maintaining security. Tajikistan is willing to work with China to earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, expand the BRI cooperation with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the 30th anniversary of the independence of Tajikistan and the 20th anniversary of the founding of the SCO as a good opportunity, and strengthen cooperation in the fields including energy, agriculture, connectivity, e-commerce and culture to realize a greater development of bilateral ties. Tajikistan will continue to firmly support the one-China principle and is ready to step up cooperation with China within such frameworks as the UN, the SCO and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia. The country will work together with China to ensure the SCO Summit a success.
